Far away from meeting rooms, production lines, and laboratories, more than 70 employees, Cuban experts, and their families gathered beneath the shade of mango trees for a day filled with laughter, teamwork, and shared experiences. What may appear to be a simple outdoor activity beautifully reflected one of Genfarma’s core beliefs:

More Than a Competition - A Journey of Teamwork
Following the opening ceremony, all participants were randomly divided into five teams. Colleagues from different departments-including Research & Development, Manufacturing, Quality Management, Operations-and Cuban experts quickly became true teammates.
Beneath the branches of mango trees heavy with fruit, differences in roles, language, and nationality faded away. Instead, the orchard echoed with encouragement, synchronized teamwork, and shared determination as every team worked together to harvest each mango safely and efficiently.
Within just 20 minutes, the teams achieved remarkable results. The highest-performing team harvested 60 kilograms of premium-quality mangoes, while the remaining teams collected between 40 and 50 kilograms each.
Beyond the impressive numbers, these achievements demonstrated effective collaboration, mutual trust, and the commitment of every individual.

While the harvesting challenge highlighted teamwork, the culinary competition showcased creativity and innovation.
Freshly harvested mangoes were transformed into a wide variety of delicious dishes and refreshing beverages. Each team’s presentation reflected its own unique creativity, combining visual appeal, flavor, and storytelling.
The highlight of the competition was Team 5 – “Young Mango”, which won First Prize with an impressive menu featuring Mango Sticky Rice, Mango & Pig Ear Salad, and Mango Passion Fruit Tea. Their thoughtful presentation, creativity, and excellent teamwork earned high praise from the judging panel.
More importantly, every idea resulted from the collective contributions of all team members. Each person brought different strengths and talents, yet everyone worked toward the same goal.
This is the same collaborative spirit that drives every Genfarma research project, technology transfer initiative, and product development program.
